Spiced mead

Mead is traditionally improved by adding of various spice blends.

Spiced mead is a traditional production in Bohemia. Different sorts of mixtures of spices or leachate are added to mead.

The most typical include spices: cloves, cinnamon, Badian, ginger, vanilla, nutmeg and lime blossom, Melissa, orange peel, possibly cumin, anise or fennel.

Used spices and their ratios and amounts remains a productional secret of most producers of mead, but often can be estimated from flavor, for example. Cinnamon, ginger.
