Details

TOMKA Company is the oldest producer of mead in Slovakia. Their mead has been produced by the traditional process of fermentation of honey dissolved in water, with no added distillates, and no herb or fruit ingredients. The quality honey sufficiently endows the beverage with a beautiful amber colour and sweet aroma. During the long period of maturation in oak barrels in a 300 years old cellar in the town of Nitra, the mead gains the typical bitter-sweet flavour.

Traditional Slovak mead, made from water and 4 types of honey using traditional fermentation process. Its characteristic bitter-sweet taste is formed during the two year maturation in oak barrels in mead cellar.

Best to be enjoyed slowly from the long-stemmed glasses, cooled down to 12-16 °C. Can be also drank hot, heated to 50-55 °C.
