The story

Mountain Mead is based in North Wales in the foothills of the Snowdonia mountain range. We make mead in the traditional way by fermenting honey and water. We have 2 meads which we make using 100% local Welsh honey, Telor Y Coed and Melyn Yr Eithin, and some other meads using a variety of different honeys. All our meads are named in Welsh after birds on the British list of Birds of Conservation Concern.

History

Mountain Mead was formed in December 2016 by Michael Cooke and Jacob Milner. Before setting up the business, Mike and Jacob had been making mead, wine and beer at home for many years and regularly met with friends to sample their latest homebrew. It was at one of these meetings that they decided to give up their jobs as electrician and tree surveyor and make mead full time.
